WHO IS IT FOR?

- For people who don’t spend much time being active, but would like to try.
WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL WE DO?
Depending on the group you sign up for, you will EITHER do rock climbing OR mountain biking.
WHERE IS IT?
We will meet at our office (71 Bamford Street, Woolston) then head off to the activity location together in one of our vans. (If there are a group of you from one school, let us know and we might be able to pick you up from school).
The activity locations are places around Christchurch, for example rock climbing in the Port Hills or mountain biking at Halswell Quarry.
WHEN IS IT?
- Once a week for 5 weeks
- Afternoon sessions (3:30-6:30pm)
- See the specific dates and times further down the page …
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
- $25 total ($5 per session for 5 weeks)
Please note that this is a highly subsidised cost because we have received generous funding from Sport Canterbury and Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa (thank you!) which is paying for the bulk of the programme.
If finance is a barrier to participation, please contact us and we can waive this cost.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
- We will provide all the gear that you need (bikes and helmets, rock climbing harnesses and helmets, etc.)
- We will provide transport to the activity locations
- If there is anything you need to bring, we will let you know. It might be things like a spare change of clothes, a drink bottle and snacks.
