Why Adventure Specialties Trust?

We are a non-profit charity and we have been running outdoor adventure programmes in our communities for over 40 years. 

We work with all kinds of people – from adults with mental health challenges, young people with high needs, high school students and student leaders, youth offenders, families and community groups, young people with disabilities, and more!

Our programmes are fun and challenging, but they go so much deeper than just being fun. 

We use nature and outdoor adventure activities to create positive change in people’s lives. Participants on our programmes experience increased social connection, a feeling of increased health and wellbeing, a sense of hope for the future, more tools for dealing with mental health challenges (like anxiety, depression and stress), a greater feeling of whanaungatanga (community), and increased taha wairua/spiritual wellbeing.

But we rely heavily of funding and donations to keep our programmes affordable for the people who need our help the most.
