The Crater

The Crater is an indoor climbing wall available solely for group bookings. Situated at 4 Winston Place, Henderson, Auckland, it is an ideal venue for outdoor education classes, social clubs, birthday parties, youth groups, scouts, guides, sports teams….. At the Crater your groups gets exclusive use of the facility.

Included in your hire charge is an instructor, harness and shoe hire as well as use of a kitchen facility complete with electric oven, gas hobs, microwave and fridge.

The facility is suited for groups of up to 25 people. If you have more than 25 people please ensure you discuss this when booking.

Cost

Primary and Intermediate School age: $8.00 per head

Secondary Schools and Community Groups: $10.00 per head

Adult and Corporate groups: $12.00 per head

A normal session is 2 and half hours. For longer session times additional charges will apply.

There is a minimum charge of $100.00 per session. Approved instructors may bring their own groups to the wall.  A facility and gear hire charge will apply.

Schools

If your school has accreditation for rock climbing Unit Standards then we are able to assist with teaching and assessing. There are additional costs if specific training and assessment are required.

We also run instruction at Mt Eden Quarry and longer trips to climbing venues in Northland and the Central North Island.

FOOTWEAR: We recommend climbers use either dedicated rockclimbing shoes or white soled sandshoes or basketball boots.

The Den
